Pink

My poppies have been glorious this year. They were so heavy with blossoms that they kept falling over. The pink was an inspiration for this girly necklace. I’m not usually a pink person, but lately it has been growing on me.

Vintage gold plated watch case with encased photo, brass wire, glass hearts and beads.

Available now at Cliques Hair Salon in Columbia, TN.

These are some of the flowers that Steph helped me plant when she was here visiting. Thanks Steph!

Maggie is waiting for a belly rub…as usual.

Spring Sights

It’s finally warm! Hallelujah! I was wondering if I would ever be able to put away my winter clothes.

I’m enjoying gardening and watching the antics of my chickens and all of the wildlife surrounding us. Outside of my bedroom window is frequently an interesting show.

One morning we watched some interesting turkey courtship. The next morning, I saw my cat Tilly running as fast as she could away from the forest toward the house. I looked up and there was a big bobcat right where she was coming from. Then it started walking toward the chicken house. Then it must have gotten spooked and went back into the forest. That was a little scary. It was the first bobcat I have seen out in the daylight in many years. I got a picture of the turkeys, but the bobcat slinked away before I could catch it on camera.

This was a very good week for sales. On Thursday, Silo Studio’s sale was a success, and on Sunday I had a trunk sale at my son and daughter-in-law’s house and it was the first one I have done. It was such fun! Thanks to all who came and helped! If any one would like for me to do a show at their house I would love to come. Just leave me a comment.

It’s Easy Being Green

I’ve been working up a storm getting ready for Studio Thursday at Silo Studios next week.

On the green theme, here are three of my new pieces for the show.

Heart of Tin
Stony Heart

The green stone heart was given to me by Steph. Thanks Steph!

Objects and Elements Inspiration

Copper, tin, coral, labradorite, found objects

When Steph was visiting, we made a trip to Michaels and picked up a couple of the new jewelry elements from the Objects and Elements collection by Susan Lenart Kazmer. I was inspired to make these two necklaces using a couple of them and then I created my own elements using old tin and images from bottle caps attached to copper using eyelets for rivets. I also like the idea of mixing metals for a more eclectic look.

Copper, tin, eyelets, glass beads, chain

Copper, silk sari fabric, coins, charms, tin, 22 caliber shell, found objects
