Blue Girl

I was cleaning out some old boxes and found this very old pocket watch case. I added a photo of my grandmother when she was a young girl and a very blue butterfly. The chain is glass and brass beads, chain, and some blue sari fabric yarn that Steph sent to me.

This will be available on Thursday evening at the Artisans’ Party at Wall Candy, 116B West Seventh St. in Columbia, Tennessee.

The party will be from 5:30 until 8:30 with yummy food, drinks, and live music. Come and support your local artisans!

Chunky Earthy Blue and Brown

I had some unglazed porcelain beads and was looking at them thinking of how I could decorate them. I happened to look up and see some permanent markers on my work table and thought…hmmmm… I wonder how this would work. I combined them with some wooden and glass beads and came up with this necklace.

Looking Toward Spring

This is a necklace that was inspired by an ancient necklace that I saw when I was at the Israel Museum. I used very different materials of course, like torch fired enameled copper for the triangles. The original was made from gold and beads. It is amazing how intricate the jewelry was thousands of years ago.

New Blues

This is a new torch fired enameled copper “stone” with turquoise and glass beads.

Vintage brass drawer pull with torch fired enamel dangles and dyed mother of pearl beads.

Test Driving

Whenever I finish a new piece of jewelry, I have to test drive it even if I just wear it around the house. I try to make sure that it is comfortable, that nothing falls apart, or pokes in your skin. This one passed the test.

This piece is for sale at Heart and Hands in Franklin on Main Street.

Blue

Found on my morning walk.

My morning walk inspired the color theme of the day.

Home

All recycled beads from old vintage necklaces and a stamped paintbrush ferule.
